When undergoing landing examination during passport control in Japan, please be advised to carry the following documents :
Several cases have recently been reported concerning the refusal of Belgian citizens to enter the Japanese territory by the local immigration authorities. It is recalled that Belgians visiting Japan, at the time of their arrival in the territory, may be required to justify the purpose of their journey through evidence. The Japanese authorities reserve the right to refuse entry if they consider the evidence provided insufficient.
If you have the Belgian nationality, you do not need a visa if your period of stay in Japan is 90 days or less and if you are not going to be engaged in income-earning activities (i.e. Sightseeing, recreation, amateur sports, visiting relatives, short-term study, inspection tour, participation in unpaid lectures or meetings, attending a conference, short-term business or similar non-remunerative activities.)
